SPECIAL SAUCE: OUR RECIPE FOR RAVING FANS

Dec 14 5 minutes read

As 2023 progresses, the holiday season will be lighted by a spectacular display of lights, heralding a bright future. The festive mood promises to be more vivid and magical than ever before, with everything from the classic warmth of twinkling string lights to cutting-edge LED displays. Communities all around the world are embracing energy-efficient and sustainable lighting options, demonstrating a dedication to both festivity and environmental responsibility. The holiday lights of 2023 reflect not just the joy of the season, but also the communal optimism for a brighter, more sustainable future as we meet with loved ones to bask in the festive glow.

Shelter Cove Towne Centre

Every year, Shelter Cove Towne Centre is festively lit for the season with over 100,000 lights and a 28' tall Christmas Tree placed in Shelter Cove Park. This light display can be seen by automobile as you drive through, but it is best enjoyed by walking so you can take in the views up close and even catch Santa and Mrs. Claus for a joyful visit!  The stores in the center are also festively decorated and welcome you to stop in to get into the holiday spirit. With life-sized nutcrackers, a sleigh, and a lovely tree, there are plenty of photo options.

Habersham for the Holidays

Christmas is a wonderful time of year to enjoy Habersham for the Holidays! Take a horse and carriage ride through the neighborhood to experience the holiday charm. Make a new ritual of biking through the lights and spectacular porch displays.

South Beach Marina Village

A series of festive inflatables will lead you into South Beach's Marina Village, where you'll see light-covered canopies and decks, as well as a small baby Jesus flanked by wise men. Among the stores is a little nativity scene, ideal for teaching children the nativity story.

Harbour Town Marina

Not only can you see the lighthouse and the walks by the stores decked up in décor at Harbour Town, but at night you can see twice as many lights - those out and their reflections in the water. If you're looking for some entertaining lights for kids, there are lots of animated snowmen, trains, and Santas throughout the stores.

Shelter Cove Marina

Shelter Cove Marina may not have as many lights as South Beach or Harbour Town, but there is some holiday decor on display this time of year. Who wouldn't want a picture with King Neptune dressed as Santa Claus? Also, keep an eye out on the water since a few folks have decorated their parked boats in the harbor.

The Village at Wexford

Visitors will be greeted by wooden toy soldiers as they enter the center, while customers will be greeted by a variety of wreaths as they enter various businesses and eateries. The Village at Wexford held its annual Tour of Wreaths in November, and all of the stores put out their best holiday door décor in preparation for Christmas, so if you're looking for some festive foliage, make sure to stop by! The photo was given by the Village of Wexford.

A Magical Beaufort Christmas

Prepare to jingle your way through the holiday season with Downtown Beaufort's "A Magical Beaufort Christmas." This lovely town transforms into a winter paradise that will leave you delighted and feeling the festive spirit in every corner. This entertaining projection event begins on November 24th and runs through December 25th, nightly from 6-10:00 p.m. Make a note of the vivid and vibrant projections that will be taking place at various spots across downtown Beaufort.

Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue Station #3

The firefighters began decorating the station at 534 William Hilton Parkway in 2007, and it has slowly grown each year, dazzling as many as 14,000 automobiles full of visitors. The firefighter's Christmas lights, with their bright lights and creative decorations, really capture the festive spirit. So, while you're driving about the island, stop by the station to admire the firemen's Christmas lights.

Compass Rose Park

If you're biking around the island, make a stop at Compass Rose Park off Pope Avenue. Although there is no snow on Hilton Head, the glittering lights make this section of the island appear heavenly. And it's the ideal location for a shot!
