Forsyth Park

Immerse yourself in nature while you take your much-needed vacation at Forsyth Park!

Topping almost all of the lists of must-see places in Savannah, Forsyth Park is an all-around nature destination, whether you're with a group or enjoying some time alone. Take beautiful pictures by the fountain, or sit under the shade of the huge Oak trees and read your unfinished book. Numerous activities are also available throughout this wide-ranged park, including a trolley tour for a picturesque stroll around the park's perimeters. 

Go here on a weekend and enjoy their farmers' market for your dose of fresh produce.

Lafayette Square

Representing the old charm of Savannah, Lafayette Square is one of the many Savannah Squares, and probably the most popular one in the whole city. 

Find your spot near the serene sound of their lovely fountain, and or go through nature walk one their man-made pathways while you wait for the cathedral to open. The huge trees surrounding the square give character to the whole place and keeps you close to nature.

Skidaway Island State Park

This lavish park offers its visitors trails that wind through their maritime forest, leading to a boardwalk and an observation tower. Scout the whole area from the tower, and watch all kinds of wildlife roaming around the park.

Stay overnight with your friends and family at their scenic campground nestled under the live oaks and Spanish moss, or at the Camper cabins if you'd rather stay indoors. Go on a bird trail and listen to the relaxing sounds of nature at Skidaway Island. A serene trip for the books!

Oatland Island Wildlife Center

Located just 15 minutes southeast of downtown Savannah, this center offers a unique experience for children and adults alike, as it showcases the local wildlife and native plants.

Go on an educational nature trip and learn about the different animals that can be found in Savannah, including some of the popular predators of Georgia and a course through Wolf Wilderness. 

Their staff is well-trained in proper animal care for all those under their supervision. Reconnect with nature and its inhabitants here at the Oatland Island Wildlife Center.

Andrew Low House

329 Abercorn St, Savannah, GA 31401

Aside from being a historic site widely recognized in Savannah, the Andrew Low House offers its visitors one of the three remaining original 19th-century garden plans in the city. Walk alongside huge flower patches of different kinds, and feel a sense of calm and peacefulness as you bask in the sunlight and enjoy the color that nature brings.

A whole tour of the house is also available. The delicate balance of exterior restraint and opulent interior resulted in an elegant villa now marked in history.

Wormsloe Historic Site

Let's mix history with nature at Wormsloe Historic Site.

A walking trail leads visitors to the 1737 tabby ruins of the oldest remaining structure in the Savannah, where costumed interpreters provide demonstrations in the afternoons, which tells us about the living history of Old Savannah. Enjoy five more miles of nature trails and course through the trails meanders past scenic marsh views at the Wormsloe Historic Site.

South Beach
