2019 was quite a joy ride, don't you agree? The past year may have brought us some trying times, but it left us some fun memories and helped us become stronger, wiser, and ready for the new adventures of 2020!
So what does the future hold for all of us? Well, we're no expert on fortune-telling, but we've got the low-down on some of the most exciting Lowcountry events to watch out for this year! Here are eight of the highly-anticipated celebrations and affairs set to happen in the next few months:
Bluffton Rotary Annual Oyster Roast 2020
When: Saturday, Jan. 25 - 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM
Where: The Bluffton Oyster Factory, 63 Wharf St., Bluffton, SC 29910
Who can resist a day filled with roasted oysters, live music, and some bonding with the community? Mark your calendars for this year's Bluffton Rotary Annual Oyster Roast, where fresh roasted local oysters, beer, wine, and Lowcountry entertainment take center-stage! Proceeds of this event will support the Bluffton Rotary Club.
Hilton Head Island Gullah Celebration
When: February 1 - February 29, 2020
Where: different areas of Hilton Head Island, SC 29926
Be a part of the month-long celebration of the Native Island Gullah Culture through food, arts and crafts, and traditions of the Native Gullahs. Different events will be available for attendees each weekend of February, which will focus on the different aspects that complete the ancient culture.
Hilton Head Marathon, Half & 8K
When: Saturday, Feb. 8 - 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Where: Jarvis Creek Park, 100 Jarvis Park Rd, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926
The most exciting Hilton Head Island marathon is set to happen in February, and it's your chance to run through beautiful Hilton Head featuring a scenic certified course starting at Jarvis Creek Park! A percentage of proceeds will benefit several Hilton Head Island Charities, including the Hilton Head Rotary Club, the HHI High School Athletic Department, the Bluffton ROTC, and the Hilton Head Christian Academy. Be fit, fab, and healthy this 2020-- don't forget to register for this event!
13th Annual Hilton Head Island Seafood Festival
When: February 24 - March 1, 2020

Food is a great way to connect and expand culinary and cultural horizons, and the 13th Annual Hilton Head Island Seafood Festival is a great place to start! Join this family-friendly, week-long culinary and cultural tourism celebration, where food, artisans, top chefs, and live music come together. Help raise money for non-profit organizations, including the Coastal Discovery Museum, Island Recreation Scholarship Fund, Waddell Mariculture Center, Port Royal Sound Foundation, Gullah Heritage Museum, and the Medical University of South Carolina.
2020 Hilton Head Wine and Food Festival
When: March 9 - March 15, 2020

It's a full week of wine and exquisite culinary experiences at the 2020 Hilton Head Wine and Food Festival happening in March this year! Stay Gold: A Lowcountry Wine, Food and Music Experience

Following Hilton Head's week-long Wine and Food Festival, come by Harbor Town on March 12, and be part of the popular Stay Gold: A Lowcountry Wine, Food and Music Experience event! The celebration will take place at sunset along the beautiful marina in Harbour Town at Sea Pines, and feature Double Gold wines from our international Judging competition and delicious Lowcountry foods, complete with beautiful live music from our local bands!
The annual Hilton Head Island St. Patrick's Day Parade

The largest FREE Hilton Head spectator event, The Annual Hilton Head Island St. Patrick's Day Parade, is one of the most anticipated display of culture and entertainment in Lowcountry, and it's happening on March 15! See beautiful floats, marching bands, bagpipes, and people of all generations, as the community celebrates St. Patrick's Day-- a tribute to the Ireland culture!
2020 Hilton Head Music Festival
